Fibre Broadband and Community Broadband

Internet Access for Isolated Locations

Here at GroundPort we provide Internet Connections and distribution to groups across Ireland in difficult to reach, technologically isolated locations.

Despite the current government plans for a National Broadband Scheme it appears as though SMEs and communities in under-served locations will still be waiting a number of years for a usable service. Authorised by ComReg, we offer a free, no obligation consultation to SMEs and groups of users who are struggling to find internet suppliers in their area.

Please contact us for further information. We would like to know:
  1. The particulars of your location and
  2. The estimated number of prospective group members

Case Study

A development of second homes in a lovely coastal location, however it suffers from very poor telecommunications infrastructure both fixed line (too far from exchange to deliver good internet) and in a deep valley so mobile and wireless links were also a poor option.

GroundPort made an assessment of the site and was able to provide a tailored connection to single a central location, distributing to the group of approximately 10 houses. Common costs were shared and a service was made available. GroundPort continued to monitor core service provision in the area and when after a number of years fibre became an option, switched the core provision from Wireless to Fibre.

By remaining flexible in our method of provision (Satellite, Wireless, Mobile and Fibre) we are able to provide service to any location in Ireland.

Client Testimonials

We have a readily usable and stable broadband service in a remote location thanks to GroundPort

When we first contacted GroundPort there were no viable services available to our community from any of the usual suppliers. Having assessed the small community of 14 houses where we live GroundPort quickly set up the system at the most reasonable of costs and arranged a simple inexpensive billing system.
My, and my neighbours’ lives, changed for the better.
Although there are now alternatives available, we would not consider changing from GroundPort

Certainly, I would recommend that any community in need of broadband or telecommunication services should contact Clive [at GroundPort].
